ECONOMIC NON-RENEWAL OF PROFESSIONAL STAFF
The Board may decrease the number of teachers to maintain the fiscal integrity of the district. Preliminary notice preceding the non-renewal or reduction in hours for the ensuing school year shall be given according to section 118.22 Wis Stat. Teachers may request a hearing before the Board to discuss the non-renewal or reduction prior to receipt of final notice. Non-renewals under this Article are subject to the provisions of section 118.22 Wis. Stat. The notification of non-renewal shall be delivered according to state statute.
1. The notice will be sent by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the employee’s address on the payroll file. It shall be the employee’s responsibility to keep the address on the payroll file current by filing a change of address card with the District, or
2. The notice will be hand-delivered to the employee. The employee will sign the employer’s copy to signify receipt.
