1. Employee Complaint(s) shall be processed in accordance with the following:

Step 1: The person making the complaint and their immediate supervisor shall make a concerted and earnest effort to resolve the matter informally.

Step 2: If not resolved in step 1, the complainant shall submit the complaint in writing directly to the District Administrator/Principal within twenty (20) workdays after the complainant knew or should have known of the occurrence giving rise to the complaint. The Administrator/Principal shall give his/her written answer within five (5) workdays of the date the complaint was presented to him/her in writing.

Step 3: When not settled in Step 2, the complainant may within ten (10) workdays submit the matter in writing to the Board. The Board or Board designated Committee shall within twenty (20) workdays or at their next regularly scheduled meeting, schedule a hearing. Within ten (10) workdays of the hearing, the Board shall issue its written decision.

2. Pupil and Parent complaints about staff performance and conduct shall be processed in accordance with the following:

Definition: Any concern raised by a pupil or parent of the District regarding employee performance or conduct. A complainant may be a pupil, parent, District resident or any group of same.

Step 1: The complainant may request a meeting with the employee within 20 workdays of the occurrence and make a concerted and earnest effort to resolve the matter informally.

Step 2: If not resolved in step 1, the complainant shall submit the complaint in writing directly to the District Administrator/Principal within twenty (20) workdays after the complainant knew or should have known of the occurrence giving rise to the complaint or within five (5) workdays after the informal meeting in step 1. The Administrator/Principal shall give his/her written answer within five (5) workdays of the date the complaint was presented to him/her in writing.

Step 3: When not settled in Step 2, the complainant may within ten (10) workdays submit the matter in writing to the Board. The Board or Board designated Committee shall within twenty (20) workdays or at their next regularly scheduled meeting, schedule a hearing. Within ten (10) workdays of the hearing, the Board shall issue its written decision.
