It is the District’s goal to operate a full day, five day kindergarten program for all five-year-olds in the district and a partial-day program for four-year-olds in the district consistent with State Statute.
Appropriate facilities, equipment and materials are to be provided for the kindergarten program. The program shall include opportunities for learning basic concepts and skills in language arts, fine arts, social studies, science, mathematics, and physical education.
The kindergarten standard affirms the District’s commitment to the education of younger children as an integral part of the free public school system as directed by the state constitution.
The District abides by State Statute 118.14 in regard to the age of pupils.
Parents who do not wish a full-day kindergarten program for their children shall be afforded the opportunity for a partial day program. The partial day program shall be jointly determined by the parents and school principal and must be approved by the District Administrator or designee.
