I. GENERAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

A. Assumes the responsibility for administering the local school unit under the direction of the District Administrator in accordance with policies adopted by the Board.

B. Works as a team member with other administrators.

C. Understands the principles of school organization and organizes the school to provide the most effective instructional program possible for the individual student.

D. Effectively utilizes personnel to implement appropriate program needs.

E. Ensures that students, staff and schedules are consistent with the individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements.

F. Coordinates the effective utilization of appropriate outside agencies.

G. Supervises the development of the school calendar of activities.

H. Coordinates with the District Staff for maximum utilization of all services available to the local school.

I. Apprises the District Administrator, and other staff as appropriate of any significant incidents.

J. Works and coordinates closely with the District Administrator, regarding all administrative responsibilities.

K. Monitors and evaluates personnel assigned to the school per Board policy.

L. Develops with supervisor a plan for continuous self-improvement.

M. Works cooperatively with PTO and other school and community organizations.

N. Assumes responsibility for acting as a representative of the Board in dealing with any situation which might arise from any occasion dealing with local school matters.

O. Assumes responsibility to perform any work which is assigned by the District Administrator of schools and/or his/her representative.

P. Perform other duties as assigned by the District Administrator.

II. INSTRUCTION

A. Remains current in federal, state, and local laws, policies and procedures.

B. Assumes the role of the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative in all meetings and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local exceptional education mandates.

C. Collaboratively works with staff in the development of the mission statement, vision, goals, and objectives of the school.

D. Coordinates resources for program implementation.

E. Works with Team Leaders in monitoring, evaluating and modifying instructional programs.

F. Chairs curriculum committees as assigned by the District Administrator.

III. FACILITIES

A. Works with Maintenance Director for the care and maintenance of the school plant.

B. Works with Technology Director to promote the ongoing use of technology throughout the school.

IV. FINANCE

A. Works with District Administrator and Business Manager to prepare & administer grade level budgets.

B. Considers requests from staff members for supplies, books and equipment.

C. Serves as an advisor to the Wilmot Foundation Board

V. STAFF DEVELOPMENT

A. Plans and implements a program of continuous staff education to meet assessed needs including the annual development of multiple Skill Block opportunities.

B. Orients faculty and staff to Trevor-Wilmot School policies and procedures.

C. Observes and evaluates staff performance.

VI. STUDENT SERVICES

A. Oversees and monitors all related services including, counseling services, speech-language pathology, social work services in schools, and school health services.

B. Plans and executes fire, tornado and disaster drills.

VII. SUPPORT PROGRAM

Understands policies and procedures relating to the plans outlined below and makes recommendations accordingly.

A. Food Service program

B. Transportation services

C. Health services to include services of local police and emergency agencies

D. Technology services

E. General school services

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As contracted

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
